The book opens with the author, Bill Scott validating his story. I did question why he waited over twenty years to write, he later explains the reason as being fearful that no one would believe him. The author tells how a normal day at the radio station soon turns into demonic mayhem. The demon that calls itself Lacy claims she is to be sacrificed on Halloween, sending the radio station employees on a mad hunt to find her before it’s too late. Lacy ends up being the demon dwelling within Roxanne who comes to a concert sponsored by the radio station on her own accord. Thus begins the DJ’s quick intro to spiritual warfare and his encounter with demon possession. Over the next eighteen months, he gives accounts of inhuman voices, blasphemies, demonic paranormal activity and death threats as he desperately attempts to save Roxanne, a self-proclaimed satanic witch.
The author’s repetitious explanation of Roxanne’s identity being a witch, priestess of Satan, breeder and in a coven I found monotonous... we got that after the second time mentioned. He also continues to validate his story throughout the book which begins to make you question it's authenticity, rather than confirm it. Some parts of the story were left with loose ends, for instance how Roxanne’s box of ritual items got beneath the bed? The story is still an interesting read and the author does a great job of bringing you into the story hoping for Roxanne’s deliverance and the disappointment in finding the enemy’s scheme all along.
Having been a former witch, I’ve encountered the spiritual realm on both sides and believe Mr. Scott did encounter the demonic realm in his attempt to set Roxanne free. However, I believe the true encounter with demon possession and exorcism is a little less dramatized then as portrayed in the book. The Appendix offers ten insightful spiritual life lessons on how to minister to those under demonic influence. These are lessons that should be learned by every Christian as we all engage in spiritual warfare.
