S.A. Tower tells her story in a way that captivates you from the first page. You are drawn into her world, experiencing the raw emotions as she paints her canvas with each experience as they leads to the next. I was able to relate to so many ritual details in her book, as someone who was also exposed to and, thankfully, delivered from black magic at a young age. I found her story riveting and inspiring. I understood her feelings of rejection, and I celebrated with each milestone she reached with God's grace and through His love. I have to say this is a must read and I look forward to reading her next book! - Maggie Wright
Ally doesn't candy coat anything in this story of her journey from the Lord, and then back to the Lord. I recommend it for Christians and Pagans and anyone in between. - Dawn Smith I loved your testimony!! My grandmother raised me and she was actually a preacher’s wife but years later, they divorced and she somehow turned to witchcraft. She read tarot cards and did other things and I think she really did it for the money but I was young, like seven years old when bad spirits started messing with me. I would tell her things I was experiencing but she did'nt seem to believe me until one night it got really bad and she promised to never do it again. I never saw her do it either. But reading your struggle has helped me view her differently… now that I see it must have been hard for her. I wish she would have had a good church or someone like Bo in her life as well. I respect her now and I needed this, I finished your book in one day lol.. I couldn’t put it down. God’s love is really amazing and I see how much He loves us. He kept on loving you no matter what you were practicing… He held you and waited for you to return to Him. I saw how God still saw worth in you no matter what you had done and it makes me smile because I know He loves me the same. I cried, smiled, got mad and happy for you in this book lol. Thank you for letting me take a quick journey with you. GOD BLESS U LOVE U - Leticia Ruiz It is rare that I come across a book that is so well-written that it is hard to put down, but this is one of those rare books. I was drawn into the story, and found myself not wanting to put down my Kindle. Ally does talk about some of her experiences in the Craft, but she didn't give away half of what she could have. As an ex-Witch myself, her initiation bore some resemblance to mine. While I have never written about mine, I do not condemn her. We are no longer under the vows of secrecy we took. Look - get the book and read it. It is rare to come across such a good author. The book makes plenty of sense even if you don't have a background in Witchcraft or always know what the words mean. I was touched by Cyndi's story at the end, and how Ally saw herself in her, but they are not the same. Ally was a "good Witch," and Cyndi was evil to the core. I wish the book said what happened to her, but I guess the author felt it was good enough to relate the story, even though there was no happy ending. From one ex- to another, thank you, Ally. Your story resonated with me. I think we have much in common. - Victoria Shephard This book was very beneficial in giving me insight into the practices of Witchcraft and some of the differences between it and Satanism. By understanding the rituals and the emotions felt by one caught up in this I now have new insight on how to approach a witch and show them the love of Christ. Very good read! - Dena Delbert Taken from the Night encourages people to take a another look at Jesus Christ. What the reader learns through Ally's story is no matter how far a person may wander from God, He will never stop trying to draw them back to Himself. Taken from the Night is an excellent example of why Christians share their story to any who will listen--so others may know the same hope in Christ. It's an excellent book to read. The experience of the author is an example of how the Lord works in many amazing ways. I will definitely recommend everyone to read it. - MaryAnn Koopmann What a captivating novel this was. Gives insight into the struggles one can easily get suck into. I can *see* the events as it happens and *see* myself in the novel. I can only say this book deserves to be a movie! - Thea-Adele Smith A certain suspenseful page turner. I loved it,as I read it in practically one day. Once I began, I simply could not put it down wanting to know what happened next. I learned so much about Wiccans, that I was never aware of before. I can't imagine her frustration during such misinterpretations, and stereotypes. I admire also her strong family like devotion to the church as a whole thru this intense roller coaster ride of amazing events. The absolute strength it must have taken to share her personal spiritual experiences, is admirable. I really enjoyed this sharing of the heart and soul so much. Both enlightening, and educational. The peace and belonging she found in Our Father, and how her eyes of love were truely opened in such a way that at times mere words can never quite convey. So comforting, and serene..like that crystal clear stream with the oh so green beautiful pasture..Just from His heart to ours, the sudden understanding of His divine and neverending love for each of us. Most of us will never in our lifetimes experience such emotional and supernatural endeavors as this. A true inspiration, and certainly intriguing journey of the soul. - Deana Tankersley I wasn't sure what to expect when I offered to review the book Taken From The Night by S.A. Tower. The line that hooked my interest was "A witch's encounter with God". I was actually taken by surprise at how much I learned about Wicca in the process of reading. Practically from the beginning you are completely with Ally, cheering her on, as she faces trial after trial and calls out to God only to receive silence. She fills the emptiness with a new group of friends who also believe in the supernatural, but not God. As she begins to fully embrace the Wiccan religion, her experiences with the supernatural continue. God gave her sensitivity to visions but that talent gets twisted by the forces she allows into her life. Ally's life continues to disintegrate around her: her marriage, her children, and she seems rather okay about it. Her life as a witch continues to increase in power and responsibility for her coven. She is on the path to be a high priestess. Then a vision hits her that she can't turn her back on. It is a wonderful representation of how much God loves his children and to what lengths He will go. At that point, she can't ignore her life. She can't ignore her relationship with God. Even when she continues to try. Her life doesn't wrap up like a fairy tale but she makes it back to the truth. It offers hope for those who have loved ones they pray for and an insight into what their loved ones face - Kelly Gowens Very touching and thought provoking. It just goes to show you that even though we all go through our own trials and tribulations.....in the end Good and God always prevails....if you only let Him in and let Him take control. God bless. - Mary Swygart We enjoyed reading this book. We found it interesting and encouraging. We appreciated the author's openness and honesty about her life's journey. - FEJH Every morning I looked forward getting up and enjoying a hot cup of coffee and reading an intriguing good book, "Taken from the Night". Wow, God's mercy was really present in that book. - Consuelo Babilonia-Gomez P.S. My daughter, Marah, loved the book too. I've just finished reading the book this morning..... :( but I'm sure I'm going to read it again. For those that haven't purchased this book yet, get onto it, this is a real honest look at how the traps of the enemy can look good on the outside, but end up as anything but. This book also really challenges you to assess where your own hearts are. If you too where faced with the circumstances that Ally and her family and friends went through... and how true would you stand in your faith and love of those in similar need. This is a very timely book...... thank you Ally for being as honest as you have been in this book. – Caleb Rigby I really enjoyed reading this book, which is a testimony. I read it within 2 days, and really enjoyed it. It was a blessing. - Travis Evans I just finished reading your book..Wow it was awesome!! I couldn't put it down. I struggle everyday with Work, Home life, trying to keep interest in my church. Your book inspired me. - Lisa Todd I wanted to share that I also played with certain forces of the Indian american west. Reading the book had brought up many of these things after I have now become a Christian with many of the demonic forces knocking on my door wanting to return. I believe you could of expressed your times without going into specifics (names, spells, herbs and so on) leading others to think this way can give you powers (as it can) and for others led out of that to be touched or called by the past forces again. - Michelle Kealy This book portrays a journey we all take. maybe not to this extreme, but we all have our own demons we need to overcome to find the true LIGHT of God's Love. Thank you for this honest look into your search for healing, and your spiritual walk into the light. To God be the glory!!!!! - Donna Symons Had the day off and read the whole book! Wow what a story! It was very well written and really gave insight to what some deem innocent acts. Wonderful ! Congrats again Sister!! ♥ -Holly Parnham Just finished your book..tears flowing....path somewhat similar...hard to share exactly ...definitely a God using in my life ...just thanks for being so open and real .... - Bonnie Giese· Finished the book. Honestly i put off finishing the last couple chapters because I didn't want it to end! Amazing grace :0) So now I have questions and I'm hoping the next book answers some of them. Thanks for sharing your story. God is GOOD :0) I am so happy He saved you! Again- amazing grace. Abba is the best daddy ever :0) - Diane Perry WOW!!! What an awesome book! I laughed and cried, boy, did it bring back memories of the hardships of coming out! But, it also brought back remembrance of how hard God fought for me. He truly loved me when I felt no one else did or ever had. I read all day yesterday and finished it yesterday as well. I was actually sad it ended…perhaps there needs to be a continuing series that brings to light both sides of the battle as this book did. I don’t believe I have ever seen the battles brought side by side as this book did. Thank you for keeping it simple yet informative, which is so much needed in today’s written works. Be blessed in Jesus, my friends. - L. King, The Way Out Ministries |
A blessing to all who read this book.... opens the eye of the reader to things most over look or never thought about. - Shaleese Struble
S.A. Tower’s story is one of true mercy and grace. I’m so amazed and grateful for the Lord’s overwhelming love not to leave us in the dark but to guide us into His marvelous light. - Wendy A. Miller, Eagles Wings There aren't enough words to express the emotional gamut I went through reading Taken. I can say, however, it brought me to tears; even now I'm fighting to keep them back! I have been recommending your book for several months, and now that I read it (at the library), I am going to buy it! - Darcy J Campbell I read your book... there was a wide range with a very broad spectrum in it Ally... it gave plenty of variety with a lot that I've also endured. One thing that touched me emotionally, is from the very beginning how God was always there, NEVER leaving your side and that's usually the way He works… when we see Him the least is when He's there the most. I cried tears of joy when I read the visions you had, what an honor... GOD is ALWAYS near to the brokenhearted, and my friend He was certainly there with you, EVERY STEP of the way! God Bless You, Keep You and May He make His face to Shine Upon You ALWAYS.. - Cindy Glazier "I loved this book! There was so much information contained within it, from a practical standpoint about Wicca; that in itself, was extremely enlightening to me. In addition, I found Ally's writing style very personal - I felt as if I was with her through all of her experiences - as she wandered and sought spiritual answers - both from Wiccan beliefs as well as our Lord. Her story is very compelling and I so appreciate her transparent honesty. She doesn't gloss over anything. She keeps it 'real' from the first page to the last. The spiritual journey she found herself on may seem extreme to most of us - and yet, I could identify with her search for Truth. This is a wonderful book because it is autobiographical. There may be some who may discount faith in Christ or who may be involved in Wicca and disagree with the information contained in Ally's book. But what no one can dispute is Ally's OWN experience. She tells all of us firsthand the road SHE walked - and therein lies the book's power! This is an extraordinary story, and one which proclaims so very clearly how much Jesus Christ longs for us to let Him save us from the dark - and Ally's personal testimony provides clear evidence of that! I plan on reading it again!" - Julie Hyatt “Taken from the Night is an honest, down-to-earth, realistic depiction of the spiritual turmoil that can ensue when a person delves into witchcraft. What I especially love about it is how it illustrates the struggle that is the process of salvation, because indeed it is a process, at least for those who are coming out of the occult. The story is very tangible and believable, reads like a novel and is not pretentious or overly-sensational like a lot of stories about the occult. I was really drawn into the story and I love how easy it is to get to know Ally through this book, and to see what motivated her and how painful it must have been to take the journey that she took in her spiritual life. It's so intense and personal, it makes you want a sequel. I highly recommend this book for anyone who is interested in spiritual depth and truth.” - Pennie Louise De Witt I have been waiting for this book for months now. It was released and I got mine in the mail. It is a powerful story, specifically to people like myself. Taken From the Night is about a witch’s encounter with God. In some ways, the bones of it, it resembles my journey. The flesh of the book, however, does not. In fact, once you start putting details to it, the story changes entirely. This story is one I could not put down, much less look away from very well, until I had finished it. I would highly recommend it to anyone. ~Calanon This is a very interesting book. I love the story and how the Lord met this woman right where she was and gently revealed himself to her awaiting her to pursue him. One thing I didn't enjoy was the fact that the writer went into to so much detail of her events as a wiccan. I appreciated the fact that she laid a groundwork, so to speak, but to me the details of the spells, and what she said and how she did things were much more details than I cared to hear about. - TG Just finished the book! may the LORD Bless you for your honesty and courage in telling your story, what a terrifying journey and at the end Praise GOD VICTORY!! I would really encourage people to read the book, Satan can deceive people but JESUS came to heal the broken hearted and set the captive free and who the Son sets free is free indeed. GOD Bless you. - Jessie Donald Hi, just finished reading you book! It was impacting, challenging and a word for the world we live in! Thank you so much for allowing us to have a glimpse into your life. You are a huge blessing! Blessings in Him – Geoff Smith First I pretty much read the book in one sitting - starting it about 7pm one night and waking up to only having to read the last two chapters - once I started I really wanted to know how it would end! Many great lessons in this book - here are a few: First, God's love is eternal, He is the great shepherd who does seek out His sheep when they get caught in the brambles of life. Secondly, believers in Christ do have an enemy who will take opportunities to challenge their faith and use anything to lead them away from God. When you read it - you will see how deception impacts perception of circumstances - and then how love and truth restores those perceptions of what is right and wrong. Finally, all people will ultimately have to answer the question "Who do you say I am?" It is a great story of love, redemption and grace - and grace is what separates Christianity from every other religion - God's love is unconditional and His mercy is new every morning! This book is authentic and I appreciate the author's courage to write her story. Well done. - Sheldon D Linser This is a must read book, I never dreamed anything could happen like this, what Ally went thru, and she is such a fantastic person. God bless . – Julie Hammond Gardy I loved it, planning to read it again, I enjoyed it that much. And it is very emotional reading too. The first 3 chapters hit me so hard, I do admit I had to put it down for a couple a days it hit so close to home. Thanks, for writing it S. A. - Vincent Kunicki This story is truly heart-warming and wonderful to read of Ally’s journey to God and his relentless love. Enjoyed it thoroughly. - Shari Sovdi Birley I got my copy of this book in. I couldn't tear myself away from it the first time through, now I am taking time to read it again, and slower, so I can make sure I didn't miss any of this powerful testimony. - Paul Bishop It's an excellent book to read. The experience of the author is an example of how the Lord works in many amazing ways. I will definitely recommend everyone to read it. - Alejandra Farias I enjoyed what I have read...and wow!!! I have read it from a different perspective...I listen in her book how she mention being neglected from her mate basically left her distracted and also open to the occult. Once rejection gets a hold of you --- you are open to the darkness that comes in many forms -- Taken From the Night...if you are not walking with God...you are in the Night... Read this book...listen as you read...let God speak to you... You must allow God to be your all in all, as "Ally" did in this true transparent book. GOD can't heal you if you don't reveal your inner hurts --- God is a gentleman --- and He will heal you if you will seek Him...As did "Ally" from Taken From THE Night!!! I really enjoyed this book... - Patrica Allbritton After receiving a copy of Taken From The Night I sat down to begin reading it and couldn't put it down! I almost finished it in one day. What a beautiful testimony of the unfailing love of Jesus Christ. And to be reminded He never gives up on us. Congrats to Ally Tower on not only her book, but for being so transparent about her life and her way back to the One who loved her unconditionally. - Vickie Burlew-Palmer Excellently written biographical testimony of spiritual struggle whilst giving an eye opening look into how people really don't understand some of the ways of darkness. How they can seem harmless and even good. I felt it debunked the fear surrounding those occult things discussed in this book bringing true facts rather than fearful imaginations. A revelation of how we should not be rejecting those who need love most, especially through tough times and shows power of prayer! It is not easy to find the balance between loving with tough boundaries without the rejection. Sensitively written. A must read for those who profess to love Jesus and others as themselves! - Mrs. L. R. Curtis I got mine yesterday. WOW! I couldn’t put it down! I got up early to read because I had to know what happened!! LOVE IT! If you have not got your copy yet, you are missing a fantastic read! You won’t be sorry! And you won’t want to put it down!! - Angela Fowler I started reading your book thinking I'd just start to see how it went. Just finished it. Wow, what a tale! Not your usual "we prayed and it was over!" testimony. A very well written, non-simplistic, non-judgmental record of your battle with Wicca. Better yet, your experience depicts a battlefield between the forces of darkness and light, with lots of imperfect people contributing to your ultimate freedom. So good job, I hope it goes viral!" "Just to add: I really appreciated the way you depicted yourself and all the people in your life who either tried to help, didn't help, screwed up, or added to your pain. You did a great job of staying away from self pity, self justification, being judgmental towards the Christians and even the Wiccans. A book that I could give anyone who needs to understand the appeal of Wicca or has been snagged by it." - Mark Pettersen, Founding Pastor, VCFP |
